KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Sprint PCS will offer both dual-mode and single-mode Web-capable handsets from Nokia Corp., according to a contract the two signed that could be worth up to $500 million.
Under terms of the agreement, Sprint will buy $360 million of dual-mode Nokia 6185 and single-mode Nokia 5170 Code Division Multiple Access phones, with the potential to increase to $500 million.
Both phones feature a Wireless Application Protocol-compliant microbrowser capable of accessing Internet-based data.
