HELSINKI-Nokia Telecommunications said it signed an agreement to acquire a 40-percent holding in U.K.-based Aircom International to further accelerate its PC-based network planning system competence and product creation.
“Nokia will focus its attention on certain selected products in Aircom’s portfolio, for instance, network planning tools, which best contribute to our system features and product concepts. This development also complements Nokia’s network planning and constancy services to operators,” said Pekka Oranen, senior vice president, customer services, Nokia Telecommunications.
Aircom provides radio engineering services and designs and develops network planning, information management and performance monitoring software, said Nokia.
