KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Sprint PCS and Qualcomm Inc. signed an agreement valued at about $400 million calling for Sprint to purchase Qualcomm’s new Internet-capable Thin Phone and pdQ smart phone.
Shipments of the Thin Phone, incorporating Phone.com Inc.’s UP.Browser microbrowser are set to begin later this summer.
Sprint PCS also introduced the Sprint PCS Nationwide Volume Program-the newest wireless business solution offered within the Sprint PCS Clear Wireless Workplace. Under the NVP, businesses with five or more phone lines are eligible for percentage discounts based on the number of phones purchased by the company and its employees.
