WATERLOO, Ontario-Research In Motion Ltd. announced Internet service provider RCN Corp. has become the first ISP to offer its BlackBerry wireless e-mail solution to subscribers.
RCN said it plans to make the BlackBerry service available to all 500,000 of its customers in a deal RIM said was valued at more than $10 million.
The BlackBerry Internet Edition allows RCN to provide customers with one e-mail mailbox accessible by both the RIM pager or personal computer. It also includes a PC docking cradle and synchronization software for the RIM pager and PC to share calendar, address book and task list information.
