JAPANESE VENDORS LICENSE PHONE.COM UP.BROWSER

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Phone.com Inc. announced several Japanese manufacturers have licensed its UP.Browser microbrowser to include in upcoming wireless phones.

The manufacturers include NEC, Casio Inc., Kyocera, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony, Denso, Toshiba, Hitachi and Matsushita.

The UP.Browser is a Wireless Application Protocol-compatible microbrowser designed to allow phones access to Web-based information and services hosted on Web network operators’ or third-party Web servers.
