GENEVA-STMicroelectronics said it entered into an agreement with L.M. Ericsson to develop a range of devices based on the Bluetooth core architecture. The companies also are working together to approach the market with optimized Bluetooth solutions, said STMicroelectronics.
The first device will be implemented in STMicroelectronic’s 0.18-micron CMOS technology and will combine radio-frequency functions with logic and digital processing required for establishing and controlling communications links between Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Bluetooth technology provides a radio link among mobile computers, mobile phones and other portable devices and the Internet.
