Triton enters 12 new cities

BERWYN, Pa.-Triton PCS Inc. has swam into 12 additional Southeast markets, bringing a total of 37 markets into the company’s service area. As the first member of the AT&T Wireless Services Inc. network, Triton entered 27 new markets in 1999, and according to the company, today serves about 13 million subscribers.

“We are excited to bring our wireless service to these important communities in western Virginia, northeastern Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina,” said Steve Skinner, president and chief operating officer of Triton. “Our high-quality network and superior customer support systems will allow us to support strong subscriber growth in 2000 while continuing to provide the best service of any carrier in our region.”

Triton also announced it opened 60 SunCom retail stores during 1999, and is marketing its SunCom products in national retailers Best Buy, Circuit City, MetroCall, Office Depot, TSR Wireless and Staples.
