CINCINNATI-Convergys Corp. announced it signed a six-year contract with South America’s largest cellular operator, Telesp Celular S.A., to supply the company’s billing and customer care solutions.
Convergys will customize, manage and operate its Atlys billing and customer care solution in a data center staffed and equipped in Sao Paulo by Telesp Celular. The deal, according to the company, also calls for Convergys to provide data conversion and migration to Atlys and staff training, as well as implementation of Convergys’ Switch Manager mediation solutions.
“This contract with Convergys reinforces our strong commitment to developing the cellular market in Sao Paulo and to continuing to meet and exceed customer expectations by reinforcing our brand name through technological innovation and increased service quality,” said Romao Mateus, president of Telesp. “We selected Convergys because of their market-proven billing and customer care software that is both flexible and highly-scalable to support the huge numbers of additional subscribers we expect in the future.”
Telesp is the principal cellular provider in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil’s largest market with a customer base of more than 2.7 million people covering a population of more than 36 million people.
