LONDON-The Radicchio initiative announced 16 new companies have joined the group, which hopes to set a Public Key Infrastructure standard for secure e-commerce transactions over wireless networks.
The new members include security notables like Baltimore Technologies Inc., Entrust Technologies and VeriSign Inc. Other members include Across Wireless AB, CYLINK Corp., Grey Cell Inc., iD2 Technologies Inc., Lucent Technologies Inc., MasterCard International, Mobile Telephone Networks, NTT Data Corp., Saraide, Synamic Ltd., Virgin Mobile, Visa International and Vodafone AirTouch plc.
Additionally, new Radicchio member Baltimore Technologies introduced its Telepathy wireless security framework for mobile commerce applications, using PKI technology. The first products introduced from that family include its Wireless Application Protocol Security Gateway, called Telepathy WSG, a WAP security toolkit and WAP certificate authority and certificates.
