LYNCHBURG, Va.-Com-Net Communications Inc. announced it completed the acquisition of Ericsson’s Private Radio Systems business. Ericsson will retain a minority interest in the new company, Com-Net Ericsson Critical Radio Systems Inc.
While specific terms of the deal were not disclosed, Com-Net Ericsson will assume Ericsson’s PRS customer commitments and long-term servicing of current customers who own and operate PRS two-way communications systems and products.
“We are excited about the opportunities on the land mobile radio market,” said Steve Savor, chief executive officer of Com-Net Ericsson. “We intend to leverage Com-Net’s expertise in system integration, public affairs, and finance with PRS’ land mobile radio market presence, technical expertise, and established distribution channels, to create an organization totally focused on the land mobile radio market. We will offer innovative services and solutions for critical communications.”
