PrairieComm announces 3G processor for CDMA

NEW ORLEANS-Prairie Comm Inc., Rolling Meadows, Ill., announced the development of a next-generation digital baseband integrated circuit supporting the Code Division Multiple Access standard. The new processor, to be available in engineering samples in the second quarter, is set to provide cell phones with the high data rates and improved standby times for next-generation CDMA technology, said the company.

PrairieComm also announced plans to develop a single-chip baseband processor supporting both CDMA and Global System for Mobile communications standards.
