BOCA RATON, Fla.-Siemens Information and Communications Networks Inc. demonstrated its next-generation wireless networks and phones equipped with General Packet Radio Service beginning with a live demonstration shown last week at CTIA’s Wireless 2000 trade show in New Orleans.
Currently, Siemens is conducting more than nine GPRS trials worldwide and plans to have 15 trial sites by the end of this month.
“In the near future, you’ll be able to communicate with not only people, but your laptop, your house, and even your car via wireless devices. Just give us a scenario, and we’ll create a wireless solution,” said Roy Gunter, vice president and general manager of Siemens’ wireless network unit in North America. “The power of GPRS is a yet untapped technology.”
