PNI, Definition 6 partner to offer group messaging module

ATLANTA-Two Atlanta-based companies, Preferred Networks Inc. and Definition 6 Inc., have partnered to offer a group messaging module that will allow PNI customers to create, manage and send pages to multiple recipients from their own Web sites.

Definition 6, an applications services provider, developed the module for Preferred Networks, a provider of outsourced telecommunications services. The companies expect to introduce the service later this month.

Definition 6’s group messaging capability is included as part of Preferred Networks’ WebSiteforFREE, a template-based software application that dynamically generates and operates comprehensive, integrated Web sites, PNI said.

“WebSiteforFREE … allows our customers to set up their own Web site, build a shopping cart, group page customers and market their services using the Internet,” Mark Dunaway, chief executive officer of PNI, said.

“Particularly in the case of those customers using a PNI iTerminal, customers can integrate Web-based services with messaging at reduced costs by transporting the paging traffic to PNI’s networks via the Internet.”
