WASHINGTON-The mobile-computing system of BellSouth Corp. has been nominated for the 2000 Computerworld Smithsonian Award.
“The primary source material submitted by BellSouth will enrich the National Museum of American History’s growing collection on the history of information technology and contribute significantly to the museum’s ongoing efforts to chronicle the Information Age,” said Stephen R. Crew, director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
The BellSouth system was nominated in the Business and Related Services category by Andersen Consulting which helped develop it. Finalists will be named April 15 and winners announced in June.
