BALTIMORE-ReachNET Inc. introduced an instant messaging application for Research In Motion Ltd. Inter@ctive pagers called Pulsar, which it said is compatible with existing instant messaging products like AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo Messenger.
Pulsar allows users to maintain their buddy lists as they appear on their computers on their pager. Users may receive alerts whenever a friend on that buddy list has logged onto a computer or similarly enabled wireless device.
ReachNET specializes in providing wireless teletype solutions for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. The Pulsar service is available for $10 a month extra, plus an activation fee of $25.
