Ericsson Mobile Phones launches ad campaign

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson’s mobile phones division launched a new advertising campaign in the United States and Latin America, with its return to television advertising on May 31 during the premiere of the CBS television program “Survivor.”

The ad campaign is scheduled to air through the end of the year on network and cable television, along with newspaper, magazine and outdoor advertising. In the Latin American regional rollout, Ericsson hopes to reach consumers with an extensive television and print campaign beginning in June.

The ads, four television spots, seven print spots and various outdoor designs, were produced by Young & Rubicam in New York, using respected photographer Mark Seliger, artist and body painter Joanne Gair, and Digital Domain, a visual effect and artistry company.

“This campaign, with its show-stopping creativity, brings to life the distinct benefits of Ericsson mobile phones, especially for the all-important market of road warriors and busy people on the go,” said Fred Medina, vice president of marketing for Ericsson Mobile Phones.
