SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Trimble Navigation Ltd. was awarded a contract from the Chinese Ministry of Railway to provide 40 GPS Total Station 4700 systems to be used to construct a 400-mile railway in the Gui Zhou providence of China.
The Trimble system will allow construction surveyors to get centimeter accuracy and receive position updates five times per second while moving, according to the company. Data is then downloaded to the Trimble Geomatics Office software for processing and transfer to the design package.
“This win reinforces our leadership as well as our commitment to the construction industry and the Asian market,” said Ron Hyatt, vice president of the precision positioning group at Trimble.
