MONTE CARLO, Monaco – Socket Communications Inc. and Axis Communications of Sweden have agreed to deliver end-to-end networking solutions incorporating Bluetooth wireless technology, providing mobile computer users with broadband wireless access points to ethernet networks.
The agreement covers Socket’s Personal Network Card, a plug-in card that adds Bluetooth compatability to Windows-powered mobile computers, and the Bluetooth Access Point from Axis, a network-attached device providing wireless access for Bluetooth devices.
Both companies said they would focus their joint solutions on environments such as conference rooms, training classes and seminars where on-the-fly access to a local area network or the Internet without dealing with multiple cables required by conventional solutions is desired.
