WASHINGTON-Internet-based group communications applications provider GroupServe Inc. reported its first commercial pilot agreement with o2wireless Solutions, a provider of integrated network solutions for the telecommunications industry.
The pilot agreement, which is scheduled to run until July 21, includes participants located throughout the Unites States who are members of o2wireless Solutions’ team involved in large-scale, multisite, national and international engagements.
The participants each received a Palm VII Connected Organizer to access the GroupPort site wirelessly, providing teams with a centralized receptacle for data and information that can be accessed via wireless devices.
“Our employees have many ways to communicate one-on-one, but had no clear method to communicate as a group,” said Stephen Johnston, chairman and chief executive officer of o2wireless Solutions. “When we heard of GroupServe’s technology, we recognized that it would be a powerful communications tool for our teams.”
GroupServe said when the service is introduced, the average user will pay less than $50 per month for its suite of services, including GroupCollaborate, GroupMail and GroupContacts. Eventually the company plans to introduce additional features such as GroupCalendar, GroupDocuments and GroupWorkFlow.
