BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless released an online video featuring a third-generation wireless data call on its Lucent Technologies Inc.-supplied network.
The video shows a comparison of two laptops loading the Verizon Wireless home page. One computer is shown downloading the page in three seconds using 3G technology with a digital wireless phone. The other computer, using a landline 28.8 kilobits per second modem, takes one minute to download the same page.
