HONG KONG-MagiNet Corp. and Lucent Technologies Inc. formed an alliance to bring wireless Internet access to laptop users, the companies said.
The companies will combine MagiNet’s Laptop Connect broadband wireless local area network and Lucent’s Orinoco suite of products. The service, which will provide data access speeds up to 11 Megabits per second, will be available in public spaces, including airports and convention centers, and in hotels.
