WASHINGTON-Novatel Wireless Inc., which makes the Minstrel wireless data modem line, filed for a $105 million initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Novatel makes the Minstrel V modem used in the OmniSky wireless data solution for the Palm V personal digital assistant, as well as wireless modems for other laptop and palmtop devices. Its customers include Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless Services Inc., GoAmerica Communications Corp. and CreSenda Wireless.
The company recently hired John Major, former president and chief executive officer of Wireless Knowledge L.L.C., as its chief executive officer.
