Siemens plans to add 1,000 workers

MUNICH, Germany – Siemens AG expects its mobile division to take on 1,000 new workers at its German production sites in Kamplintfort, Bocholt and Leipzig by the end of the year, due to strong demand for the new generation of Siemens mobile phones.

“The mobile telephone business is booming and production is going from strength to strength,” noted Rudi Lamprecht, chief executive officer of Siemens Mobile. “Our decision to up staffing levels is only the first step. In the long term we are looking to consistently expand our business activities.”

Siemens said its recruiters are looking for 200 information specialists 250 technicians and approximately 500 assembly technicians, in addition to the 700 new employees Siemens has already hired this year.
