BERWYN, Pa.-AT&T Wireless Services Inc. network affiliate Triton PCS Holdings Inc. posted second-quarter financial results, adding 58,000 subscribers during the quarter, bringing the company’s total subscriber base to 300,000.
Total company revenue increased from $26.7 million during the second quarter of 1999 to $85.2 million for 2000, fueled by an increase in its customer base, an average monthly revenue per subscriber of $61.82 and 90.5 million minutes of roaming billing for the second quarter.
Net loss attributed to shareholders for the quarter increased from $37.9 million for the second quarter last year to a loss of $44.8 million this year. Loss per share was down drastically from $6.12 per share in 1999 to 73 cents per share this year. The decrease was attributed to an increase in total outstanding common shares from 6.2 million shares last year to 61.9 million shares this year.
Triton also introduced its SunCom USA service plans, patterned after AT&T’s Digital One Rate plans, during the quarter.
