LONDON-Cable & Wireless is reported to be in talks regarding the sale of its controlling stake in Australian mobile carrier Cable & Wireless Optus, according to international press reports.
The sale of the 52.5-percent stake in Australia’s second-largest wireless operator would be in line with Cable & Wireless’ strategy of moving away from mobile and other consumer markets.
The British multinational recently sold half its stake in its Hong Kong wireless carrier company to Pacific Century CyberWorks.
