ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-NTT Communications Corp. reported it plans to complete its purchase of Internet service provider Verio Inc. by the end of September.
The purchase, valued at $5.5 billion, was delayed for several months while the U.S. government reviewed potential national security concerns posed by the Japanese government’s majority stake in NTT.
“We think the approval was an endorsement of the deal, and it certainly supports our notion that there was never a national security threat here,” said Justin Jaschke, chief executive officer of Verio.
