LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Alltel Corp. announced stronger wireless customer growth forecasts for 2001 and 2002, with cash earnings per share in each year expected to range from 12 percent to 16 percent.

Alltel also estimated it will gain a total of 550,000 to 600,000 customers in 2001, and 600,000 to 650,000 customers in 2002.
