CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Glenayre Technologies Inc. said its @ctiveLink two-way wireless messaging module for the Handspring Visor is commercially available, bundled with the handheld device.
The module gives two-way wireless connectivity to the Visor for e-mail and messaging capabilities. It connects to the devices via the Springboard expansion module, a key feature of the Visor.
Both Handspring and SkyTel Communications will distribute the bundled solution. SkyTel, a WorldCom Inc. company, will be the primary service provider for units sold over the PalmGear Web site, the company said. Glenayre said it will pursue additional strategic distribution partnerships in the future.
