SAN DIEGO-Nextel Communications Inc., Wireless Knowledge Inc. and Qualcomm Inc. have agreed to co-market and sell an enterprise solution enabling business customers to access business information on their Nextel Internet-capable phones.
The alliance will allow Nextel customers to use Wireless Knowledge’s Workstyle Server to securely access enterprise information such as Microsoft Exchange e-mail, calendar and contacts.
Nextel said the service, scheduled to be available starting Oct. 2, will be offered to subscribers of its Online Plus Service at a promotional price of $5 per month through the end of the year, and $10 per month to non-Nextel Business Plan subscribers. In addition, an annual license is required from Wireless Knowledge for the Workstyle Server software, with prices based on the number of subscribers using the software.
