Amdocs will integrate its IAF Horizon billing, rating, customer-care and service management solution with Comptel plc’s MDS mediation software to provide mobile Internet Protocol service providers with an integrated billing mediation, rating and billing solution together with service activation and customer care.

Motorola Inc. and Mercedes-Benz USA have deployed TeleAid as a standard feature on all model-year 2001 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and the first year of service will be free of charge, the companies announced. The deployment represents a four-year agreement valued at more than $225 million in Motorola telematics hardware. The TeleAid system will enable different services, including automatic emergency response, roadside assistance and product information.

Datalink.net announced an agreement with Dow Jones Newswires to feature Dow Jones Capital Markets Report on Datalink.net’s wireless service for financial market professionals. Datalink.net said it will deliver the news as a stand-alone product or as an optional service on its wireless financial application, Global Market Pro.

Equinox Solutions Inc. and Sprint PCS said they will offer an application enabling mobile professionals to retrieve e-mail attachments and remote documents when connected to the Sprint PCS network via a Windows-based laptop computer. The application, incorporating Equinox’s ActiveNet service into Sprint’s network, will also allow customers the option to view only the first page or part of a document, instead of waiting for the whole document to download. Both companies said they will jointly market and sell Equinox’s ActiveNet suite of products.

Metricom Inc. announced contracts with four companies to deploy certain components of its Ricochet 128 kilobits per second mobile access network in markets now under construction. American Tower Corp., Delta Groups Engineering Inc., Divine Tower International Corp., Whalen Co. Inc. and Metricom will work to ensure commercial availability of Ricochet in 46 markets in 2001, Metricom said. The companies will perform wireless access point site acquisitions and develop and perform RF engineering in selected markets.
