CDMA adds 71M subscribers in 3Q counts

SAN DIEGO-CDMA subscribers for the third quarter of this year totaled more than 71 million, which is a 73 percent increase from the previous year, according to the CDMA Development Group.

The largest increase was in Latin America, which saw a growth of about 234 percent to nearly 10.5 million subscribers. In North America there are about 27 million users, which is a 105 percent increase from the previous year.

The Asia Pacific region has about 33.5 million subscribers, and other regions, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa, reached about 1 million.
