Granite releases Xpercom suite

MANCHESTER, N.H.-Communication software provider Granite Systems Inc. released version 3.6 of its Xpercom product suite, a next generation network and service resource management solution for telecommunications service providers.

The updated version includes XML data transfer support, enhanced data transfer support, enhanced database searches of network information and greater customization of database interfaces facilitating network-wide deployment.

Granite said Xpercom 3.6 enables carriers to manage technologies from wireline to wireless, circuit to packet and advanced optical networks from a single common platform.

“For most emerging service providers, the network is the single greatest capital expense,” said Rob Rich, EVP of the Yankee Group. “As they seek time to market, customers satisfaction and profitability, services providers need to leverage this asset with tools that increase efficiency and utilization. Xpercom is well positioned to meet their needs in this area.”

The 3.6 upgrades cover three products in the suite; Xpercom, Xpercom Visual Edition and Xpercom Network Interface Module.

“Our customers have asked us to make it easier to customize Xpercom for their, individual network and organization needs,” explained John Borden, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Granite Systems. “We are pleased to provide our customers with additional enhancements in Xpercom 3.6 that further facilitate network efficiency and that allow them to provide higher levels of service to their customers.”

Granite noted that ConnectSouth Communications Inc., a provider of high-speed connectivity and Internet business tools for communities across the Southern United States, was one of the first customers to implement the Xpercom 3.6 suite.

Leonard Conn, chief technology officer of ConnectSouth, said the solution increased the company’s flexibility and custom use of the database throughout its operations, allowing it to support additional network and service functions.
