Spirent Communications, which provides performance analysis solutions, announced the InfoDM v2.0 release, which is part of the company’s acquisition of InfoSoft Technologies, will supplement Spirent’s CDMA test solution with high-speed, over-the-air data logging and a data playback feature. The InfoDM v2.0 improves message logging with a Turbo mode and has expanded message decoding and message bookmarking. It also enhances data analysis capabilities, with a playback feature that allows the data to be reviewed in a forward or reverse mode at varying rates. Qualcomm

Qualcomm Inc. released its new MVPc in-vehicle computer, which the company said will improve productivity and lower operating costs for transportation companies. The MVPc, which uses the Windows CE operating system, can interface with Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS and OmniExpress mobile communications systems. 3Com Corp., along with educational publisher McGraw-Hill Education, developed the Media Ease Learning Solution, which is aimed at providing teachers with an easy-to-use tool for creating media-rich lessons and content. Educational networking company 3Com, McGraw-Hill and MarchFirst, a global professional services provider, plan to offer the product in February. 3Com said Media Ease will allow teachers to preview and assemble digital content, including voice, data and video, to create lessons that can be played, saved and updated. Application service provider The Electronic Mail Company Inc. today announced the launch of its Messaging Partner Program, which is aimed at business-to-business Internet companies. The company said its program is designed to allow resellers to instantly add messaging solutions to their existing service offerings. AmikaNow! Corp. launched its AmikaFreedom.com, a Web-to-wireless e-mail notification service that the company said provides interpreted and shortened e-mail content tailored for mobile devices. According to the company, AmikaFreedom.com works immediately after users sign on to the Web service, allowing them to chose what e-mail highlights they want to receive. The highlights are customized to the size of the user’s mobile device. VerbalTek

VerbalTek Inc. released its VerbalNET 1.0 Distributed Speech Recognition system, which the company said will allow personal digital assistant users to access the Internet with their voice alone. The speech-recognition feature of the VerbalNET isn’t dependent on the speaker, according to the company, which will be helpful for people who speak languages that don’t lend themselves to text displays. VerbalNet can be used for inputting stock quotes and m-commerce, and can reformat Web pages for the smaller displays of mobile devices. MyPoints.com launched its new MyPoints Anywhere! product, which allows the 15 million consumers enrolled in MyPoints to access the program and earn points from their wireless devices. Andrew Corp. rolled out its new InCell fiber optic distributed antenna system for in-building wireless communications. The company said the new system improves and extends RF coverage in buildings and other hard-to-penetrate areas. The system supports cellular and personal communications services networks and is offered as a dual-band system to carry multiple wireless services. The company said the InCell can also be upgraded for third-generation services. The InCell uses a single-mode optical fiber cable to distribute RF signals between a central RF hub and remote antenna units. The system comprises a Central Distribution Unit that interacts with six Remote Antenna Units placed throughout the building. AudioCodes Ltd. released a new line of IP Media products, which will focus on platforms enabling carriers and application service providers to offer enhanced voice services over broadband infrastructure using VoIP technologies. IFR Systems Inc. released its new 2029 vector modulator, which the company said will turn any analog RF signal generator into a digital signal generator. The 2029 will allow conversion of manufacturing lines from testing older wireless formats to testing the latest digital formats, the company said. The 2029 can test second- and third-generation formats with a frequency range of 800 MHz to 2.51 GHz. According to the company, the 2029 eliminates the need to buy more signal generators or air interface specific radio test sets. It uses an external signal generator to provide a local oscillator input signal, an internal arbitrary waveform generator to generate a baseband IQ drive signal, and an IQ modulator to provide a vector-modulated output signal.
