NEW YORK-iMedeon Inc., an Alpharetta, Ga., provider of wireless Web applications for mobile work- force management, has completed a second round of venture capital financing and a strategic partnership agreement.
GE Equity, a GE Capital company, led investors in the new $15.5 million venture financing for iMedeon. Aether Systems Inc. and GE Power Systems also participated for the first time, while Insight Capital Partners, an existing investor, made an additional investment.
“We think iMedeon is well positioned to capitalize on energy industry trends,” said David Delainey, president and chief executive officer of Enron North America, with which GE Equity is affiliated.
Through its affiliates, GE Power Systems, Atlanta, a supplier of power generation technology, energy services and management systems, will market iMedeon’s offerings.
“IMedeon’s products extend our portfolio beyond systems for transmission, distribution and (power) outage management to offering productivity solutions for field service management,” said Steve Boize, president and general manager of GE Energy Management Services, a GE Power Systems’ affiliate.
