Allied Telesyn International released its new AT-8124XL, part of its line of managed 10/100 auto-negotiating switches. The company said its new product, based on integrated Application-Specific Integrated Circuit technology, features Web-based management, per-port virtual local area network support, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers standards 802.1p priority queuing. According to the company, the AT-8124XL can provide up to 200 Megabits per second of bandwidth to the end device. Each port supports half/full duplex operation and is IEEE 802.3u auto-negotiation compliant. PolyStar Corp. unveiled its new prismatic lithium-ion battery, which the company said achieves a 1350 milli Amp-hour capacity in a battery package that is 34 millimeters wide, 48 millimeters long and 8 millimeters thick. Sheldahl Inc. introduced its new ComClad line of high-frequency laminates for semi-rigid or flexible circuits. ComClad can be provided in industry-standard panel sizes with a variety of copper foils and dielectric thicknesses. Western Multiplex Corp. released its new Tsunami 23 GHz Licensed Wireless Fast Ethernet Bridge, which the company said is an ideal 100BaseT backbone solution for service providers that need to establish a new presence where licensed spectrum usage is required. The Tsunami fulfills line-of-site back-haul needs, serves as a fiber extension, and provides Internet access with voice, video and data over Internet Protocol, according to the company. The new product offers a licensed solution in the regulated 23 GHz spectrum that delivers full-time, full-duplex 100BaseT connectivity at 45 Megabits per second, the company said. Marbles Inc. released its new wireless computing software, SkyFire, which the company said overcomes various problems, such as hardware limitations, narrow bandwidth, security and maintenance. The SkyFire features a terminal/server approach allowing all applications and data management functions to run on an enterprise server, while mobile devices operate as smart terminals. This, the company said, allows low-end mobile devices to run graphics and real-time applications. The product’s open platform supports any Internet-connect device at any Internet speed. Agilent Technologies Inc. introduced its new E1962A IS-2000 mobile test mode application and 8960 Series 10 Model E5515T wireless communication test set, which the company said is designed exclusively for early, high-volume manufacturing of cdma2000 mobile phones. The test mode application and test set will help manufacturers get to market early with cdma2000 mobile phones based on the IS-2000 CDMA standard, the company said. Manufacturers can use the company’s cdma2000 solution to perform IS-2000 transmitter and receiver tests, including power and frequency-and-waveform quality measurements. The company also introduced a commercial GPRS test solution for high-volume manufactures of mobile phones. The solution, the GPRS Mobile Test Application, makes use of test modes, such as European Telecommunications Standards Institute test modes that enable GPRS calls without fully implementing GPRS protocol, the company said. Numerex Corp. launched its new Circuit Watch, which is the first of the company’s line of CW-100 wireless monitoring systems for high-speed data lines. The company said the Circuit Watch allows network support personnel to monitor T-1 status in real time. The CW-100’s external inputs allow managers to remotely monitor and control the activities of equipment at the site, and they can receive alarms if there are any changes in the condition. All the status and remote control functions can be accessed through the Circuit Watch Web site, the company said. Ericsson entered the CDMA market with its new handset, the A1228c. The company said it now offers mobile, Internet-enabled products in all major digital cellular standards. The A1228c operates on the 800 MHz band on CDMA digital networks and analog networks. It also including a wireless application protocol microbrowser from Phone.com for Internet connections over WAP=enabled networks, the company said. GEO/Samsung

GEO Interactive Media Group Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. introduced a video cell phone supporting MPEG4 streaming video, based on GEO’s Emblaze V2 video ASIC chip. The device will begin shipping first in Asia and Europe, extending to the United States at a later date. The company said the device will work over current wireless networks. The Emblaze A2 chip enables devices employing it to view video in accordance with the bandwidth provided by the carrier network. Xiam Ltd. unveiled its new Information Router suite, which the company said will allow employees bi-directional access to email, corporate databases and Web-based information from their mobile device. The router allows GSM mobile phone users to change and/or update the information on servers through short messaging service, according to the company. Users can also request Web-based information and pre-select emails to be routed to their mobile devices. They can receive notifications from in-house event servers, and configure their own profiles through a Web-based Java applet. The router is compatible with Windows NT, Solaris and VAX/VMS, the company said. LG Information Communications USA introduced three new Internet-ready wireless phones. LGIC’s LGI-3000W is 6.2 ounces, the company said, and is equipped with a 12-line touch screen, with a stylus housed on the back of the phone. It also offers usage of its personal information manager applications while on a call. The company said the LGI-3000W has abbreviated dialing, voice-activated dialing, a built-in headset jack, and a personal organizer with more than 1,000 entries. The company’s new LG-510 wireless phone features a separate external LCD screen, weights 4.2 ounces, and offers a variety of functions, including a Tegic T9 predictive text entry option, a four-way navigational key, and a six-line internal display, the company said. The third phone from LGIC is the LG-110, which features Web-browsing functions and a full-graphic LCD display.
