Pager partnership benefits missing children’s group

NEW YORK-Parents having trouble staying in touch with their children will get some wireless help under a diverse new partnership, which includes a pop star, a not-for-profit missing children’s organization, several wireless companies and something called FuMan Skeeto.

Missing children organization Child Watch of North America is teaming with Chris Kirkpatrick of the popular boy band `Nsync to offer a line of FuMan Skeeto-branded prepaid pagers. FuMan Skeeto is the name of Kirkpatrick’s entertainment company.

Vtech Connect Ltd., Metrocall Inc. and Shared Technologies Cellular are behind the wireless effort.

“They’ll help parents keep in touch with their kids, and the pagers are cool enough that the kids will actually use them,” Kirkpatrick said.

Pager users will receive information on Kirkpatrick and upcoming `Nsync concerts and news from Child Watch. A portion of the proceeds will go to Child Watch to help recover abducted children and fund safety programs.
