BOTHELL, Wash.-Infowave Software Inc., a global provider of software that connects enterprise applications to wireless devices announced its support for RIM BlackBerry 950 and 957 wireless pagers through Infowave’s Wireless Business Engine. Infowave’s Exchange Connector, which provides mobile users access to Microsoft Exchange e-mail, calendar, tasks and contacts, includes BlackBerry support. According to Infowave, their support for a spectrum of devices, including BlackBerry, allows IT managers the power to support mobile users with an array of wireless devices from a single platform, and thus lowers the total cost of ownership.
Ron Jasper, vice president of marketing at Infowave commented on the announcement, “We know many IT managers are beginning to face the challenges of supporting the multitude of mobile phones, pagers, laptops and personal organizers end-users have purchased and are using, either as part of a departmental decision or on their own. Infowave alleviates this stress by ensuring that IT people, who are ultimately responsible for supporting all these devices, can do so without being stuck managing multiple servers for every device that comes around.”
