CANNES-Wireless Facilities Inc. and Bechtel Corp. announced they formed an alliance that will provide turnkey network implementation services for GSM and 3G networks in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The companies also plan to pursue joint opportunities in select wireless mobility and broadband fixed wireless access markets worldwide.
By combining WFI and Bechtel’s resources, the companies say the alliance offers unequaled network services capability for carriers and equipment manufacturers in these targeted markets. Thomas Munro, president of WFI, explained, “Today, carriers are faced with an increased need to expand mobile voice and data networks as they keep pace with the personal communications needs of their customers. Through our alliance with Bechtel, we can provide the resources, engineering talent, project management skills, logistics and processes to provide a very powerful, seamless network design and delivery solution.”
