Telemac gets patents

LOS ANGELES-Telemac Corp., a provider of network-independent billing and accounting technologies for the wireless industry, announced it has been granted broader U.S. and European patents covering a network-independent, handset-based prepaid wireless system.

The patented system includes Telemac’s IMA-Module software and its DAS software. According to the company, more than 9 million Telemac-enabled mobile phones that use the patented technology have been sold worldwide.

The new patents clear up issues raised in recent patent litigation concerning Telemac’s patents. Telemac now has extensive patent protection throughout the United States and Europe that will not be subject to the infringement defenses previously raised.
