WOODBURY, N.Y.-Austrian GSM operator, Max.mobil, has deployed Comverse’s Intelligent Short Messaging Solution (ISMSC), thereby expanding its mobile-originated and mobile-terminated short messaging services.
Comverse’s ISMSC offers connectivity to the Web and SMS-based applications and has built-in readiness for Enhanced Messaging Solution, General Packet Radio Service and UMTS. According to the company, ISMSC enables mobile network operators to keep pace with the growth in short message and mobile data traffic.
Max.mobil began the deployment of the ISMSC solution with the expansion of its SMS-mobile-originated capacity. It then deployed Comverse’s ISMSC applications-based Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) Gateway, broadening Max.mobil’s SMPP offering.
According to Zeev Bregman, chief executive officer for Comverse, the ISMSC solution “provides customers, such as Max.mobil, with the ability to capture a large share of the rapidly growing short message service market.”
