Wavecom revenues grow 651 percent

ISSY-LES-MOUILNEAUX, France-Wavecom S.A., which develops digital Wireless Standard Modules, announced a 651-percent jump in revenue for the quarter.

Total revenues for this quarter increased 651 percent from the year-ago quarter, or to approximately $48.5 million from $6.5 million. In addition, the company’s product revenues increased 617 percent to about $46 million vs. $6.4 million in first-quarter 2000. First-quarter sales of WISMO modules also grew, to approximately $35 million from $3.1 million.

The company said the significant increases came from increased manufacturing capacity, due to multiple manufacturing lines and engineering changes.
