CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Glenayre Technologies Inc. joined the VoiceXML Forum at the promoter level.
The forum’s goal is to promote VoiceXML, a language that allows Internet-based phone services and voice-enabled access to the Internet.
“Developing VoiceXML-based applications enables wireless communications companies to bridge the current divide between speech technology and the Internet,” said Eric Dogget, Glenayre’s president and chief executive officer.
Glenayre recently announced a redirection in its business and will now focus solely on its unified communications products and services.
