OTTAWA-Industry Canada released a spectrum use policy that will supply a number of radio applications, products and services in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. Among the policy provisions are the designation of spectrum to support wireless access and the accommodation of a wide range of consumer products using license-exempt spectrum.
This arrangement is expected to facilitate wireless communications services, including access applications for connecting public institutions, such as schools and libraries, with high-speed Internet, the Canadian telecom regulator said.
