MONTE CARLO-Zucotto Wireless Inc. made several announcements regarding Java technologies.
Zucotto unveiled its Xpresso 100 microcontroller, its first Xpresso Java technology-based processor for wireless devices, making the company’s J2ME technology mobile. According to Mark Wells, Zucotto chief executive officer, with the Xpresso 100, manufacturers will be able to efficiently develop and introduce Bluetooth technology-enabled products to the market.
The company also said it has chosen UMC’s ASICplus program to assist in developing its Xpresso family of Java technology-based processors. UMC and an ASICplus partner, RealChip Communications, will provide Zucotto with manufacturing services.
Zucotto announced its partnership with Brightspark Group to deliver software applications for its Xpresso semiconductors. The companies first joint application is a personal information manager for Zucotto’s WHITEboard Software Development Kit.
The company also said it aligned with Smart Fusion and Philips Semiconductors to combine Java technology and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
