LONDON-BT Cellnet will use Seven’s mobile software architecture to launch its Connected wireless Internet service.
Connected, which is a mobile Internet portal and suite of services for business customers in the United Kingdom, is part of BT Cellnet’s Genie, the carrier’s mobile Internet business.
Seven said the carrier is using parts of its software architecture to allow users to connect to e-mail, voice mail and fax messages through a single mailbox on their mobile phone.
“A key barrier to adoption of mobile data services by small and medium enterprises is the high cost and complex installation requirements,” said Kent Thexton, BT Genie’s president. “With zero footprint implementation on the enterprise side, Seven helps us overcome this roadblock.”
