AT&T names new board members

NEW YORK-AT&T Wireless, to be spun off from parent AT&T Corp. July 9, announced eight members of its new board of directors.

John Zeglis will serve as chairman of the board in addition to his duties as chief executive officer. Other board members will include Walter Elisha, retired chairman and CEO of Spring Industries; Donald Fites, retired chairman and CEO of Caterpillar Inc.; Ralph Larsen, chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson; Nobuharu Ono, executive vice president and senior executive manager of NTT DoCoMo Inc.’s Mobile Multimedia Division; John Madigan, chairman, president and CEO of Tribune Co.; Barry Rand, retired chairman, president and CEO of Avis Group Holdings Inc.; and Carolyn Ticknor, retired president of Imaging & Printing Systems at Hewlett Packard Co.

Concurrent with the spinoff, Zeglis, Elisha, Fites and Larsen will leave the AT&T board and join the AT&T Wireless board. Masaki Yoshikawa, president and CEO of NTT DoCoMo USA will step down from the AT&T board as Ono joins the AT&T Wireless board.
