ATTW added to S&P 500
AT&T Wireless Group, which has been spun off to AT&T Corp. shareholders, replaced Potlatch Corp., an integrated forest products company, in the S&P 500 Index at the close of trading July 6. Standard & Poor’s Corp. said early July 6 it would adjust the share price of AT&T Corp. in the S&P 500 and the S&P Global 100 indices “to account for the distribution of AT&T Wireless Group to AT&T shareholders.” S&P moved Potlatch Corp. to the S&P Midcap 400 Index, where it replaced Ryerson Tull Inc., a steel processor and distributor. “Company additions to and deletions from and S&P equity index do not in any way reflect an opinion on the investment merits of the company,” Standard & Poor’s said.
