HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. said it signed a deal to deliver a complete third-generation network with German operator Viag Interkom, owned by British Telecommunications plc, for $344.1 million.
Deliveries will begin during the third quarter, and the commercial network is expected to be launched during first-quarter 2003, Nokia said.
Nokia said Viag Interkom, a GSM carrier with about 4 million customers, can extend its future services through network sharing with other German operators. The German government has said it will allow network sharing of some 3G infrastructure.
