CLEVELAND-Sprint PCS is joining the movement to market wireless technologies to young adults with its new Cube, an easy-to-manage prepaid wireless phone.
The phone, marketed to people between the ages of 14 and 24, offers voice, e-mail, Internet access and more than 100 video games. It uses a pay-as-you-go system and does not require a contract.
Because it is being offered to such a young crowd, in addition to not requiring contracts, Sprint said there are also no age restrictions, no credit checks and no required parent signatures.
Phone purchasers will receive a payment card that keeps track of time paid for and $10 worth of free minutes. Additional minutes can be purchased when needed with the card at participating stores, including Dillards, Ritz Camera, Radio Shack, Office Max, Sprint and on the Internet.
Sprint is spending the summer promoting and testing the new phone in a mall tour in Cleveland that will last through late August. The mall demonstration includes a testing area where pot
