SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Motorola Inc. today announced it will add travel functions, including the ability to make flight, car and hotel reservations, to its Mobile Office Solution.
The company’s mobile office product offers traveling businesspeople wireless access to corporate e-mail, calendar and address book information. Through today’s announcement Motorola will add a variety of travel features, including access to airline information, the ability to create, re-book or cancel hotel or rental car reservations, and an alert service for delays, cancellations or gate changes.
“We will pack in new capabilities until your phone is the only device you need to consult when traveling on business,” said Tim Krauskopf, vice president and general manager of software for Motorola’s Internet and content group.
The Mobile Office Solution works on WAP/HTML-enabled devices. Motorola partnered with GlobalDining.com, travel technology companies Sabre and Galileo International to create its travel services.
